Sierra Circus Camp is an annual summer camp offering all levels of circus education in the beautiful outdoor setting of the Sierra Foothills.
The camp was founded in 2020 by Erin Stephens, a Murphys local who learned to juggle at the Old Murphys School house at age 10. Since then, she has travelled around the world as a professional juggler, taught juggling to children of all different backgrounds and has learned first hand the benefits of circus education.
Now living in Burkina Faso, Africa, Erin returns home annually to teach and support the next generation of local circus artists. Sierra Circus Camp has now trained over 150 youth in circus arts, worked with local and regional circus coaches, and adapted to a Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced camp based on the camper’s progress. The coaches and campers are also annual performers in the Sierra Circus Show.
Through expert instruction, supportive mentorship, and a welcoming community, Sierra Circus Camp helps young people discover confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of movement and performance.
